Bring on all your greatest warriors, I will destroy them all!
—Murakami, Live by the Sword

Murakami is a one-time villain introduced in Live by the Sword. A destructive ninja who lived long ago, Murakami was trapped in his sword thanks to a curse, but returns in the future after being accidentally released by Kirby Kowalski.

History[]

Early Life[]

Long ago, there was a powerful ninja named as Murakami who wanted to rule the world. In order to accomplish his goal, he wanted a strong sword, and ordered a sorcerer to make one for him. He did as he was told, but he placed a curse on the sword, which trapped Murakami inside of it. He warned others to not grip the sword's handle, as this would release the ninja from his prison.

Season 1[]

Live by the Sword[]

After Kirby held Murakami's sword, the ninja was unleashed and he took control of his body. He is found at an alley by Butch and his two sidekicks, Dean and Jake, who proceed to attack him. Murakami easily subdues Butch and Dean. Jake tries to run away, but the ninja catches up to him and cuts his black jacket with his sword to make a mask for him to use. The trio runs away from Murakami, but he pursues them. He ends up on downtown Copper Canyon and interferes with the traffic. He slices a car in half, cuts the gun of a policeman and proceeds to cause more havoc until Max Steel intervenes. He demands Murakami to stop, but he retorts saying that no one will stop him from his mission of conquest. He attacks Max and runs through Copper Canyon while destroying random things.

Max chases Murakami throughout Copper Canyon, and Steel deduces that the sword was likely the cause of Kirby acting that way. He tries to remove the sword from the teen's hands, but fails. Max tries to reason with Murakami, stating that he doesn't wants to hurt him, but the villain ignores and attacks him. Max activates Turbo Strength Mode and once again tries to remove the sword from Kirby's hands, but ultimately fails. He eventually escapes after throwing Max inside of a store. Murakami continues with his destruction, until he spots a THI aircraft on the sky. He attempts to destroy it as well, but is captured by the ship.

Murakami faints, and Jason Naught imprisons him. He attempts to electrocute Kirby's body in order to make him release the sword, but Murakami awakens and manages to free himself from the prison cell. He and Naught, on his robotic form, engage in combat. Their fight damages the THI aircraft, causing it to fall to the ground. They end up on the top of a building where they continue with their battle. Max follows them and intervenes by kicking Naught, but Murakami attacks him. Max and the ninja engage in combat, with Murakami having the upper hand almost the entire battle. Eventually, C.Y.T.R.O. intervenes, and gives Max the Turbo Sword. After Steel links with it, Max and Murakami clash with each other. After hitting the blade of the sword multiple times, it breaks and frees Kirby from Murakami's possession, at the same time putting the ninja to rest as well.

Abilities[]

  • Superhuman Strength: Murakami is shown to be extremely powerful, as he could match Max's power with relative ease. While fighting against Max's Turbo Strength Mode, he easily throws him with little effort, showcasing his force.
  • Superhuman Durability: Murakami is tougher and more durable than an average individual, as he was able to withstand an energy shot from C.Y.T.R.O. without much damage, and being kicked by Max in his Strength Mode.
  • Superhuman Speed: While dealing with Butch and his sidekicks, Murakami showcased his speed. He easily dodged their attacks in blur speeds, denoting this ability. He also has enhanced jumping, which allows them to travel very quickly from one place to another.
  • Superhuman Agility: Murakami is extremely fast and agile.
  • Enhanced Leap: Murakami can jump farther than an average individual.
  • Unlimited Stamina: Murakami can fight during long periods of time without needing to rest or recover.
  • By touching the torso of the person in multiple specific spots, Murakami will instant and completely immobilize his victim for a short period of time.

Arsenal[]

  • Cursed Sword: A glowing orange sword that once trapped Murakami. Once someone touches its handle, the weapon gets stuck on the person's hand and it cannot be removed unless the blade is broken. The sword is extremely potent, being capable of slicing a car with no effort and even tearing apart pieces of Max's Steel Suit. The blade of the sword can also deflect energy rays.

Weaknesses[]

  • Murakami is not familiar with modern technology, allowing foes to take advantage of him. For example, upon he saw the THI aircraft on the sky, he attempted to destroy it, but instead was captured and fainted in the process, allowing Jason Naught to hurt him.

Appearance[]

Murakami had a tall and slim build. He wore a black and dark blue full-body ninja suit, silver gauntlets with three spikes protruding from its sides, a black belt with golden accents and a pair of dark grey tabi. He stored his sword on his back and had orange eyes.

After being unleashed, Murakami preserves Kirby's appearance, but his eyes glow orange. He wears a black ninja-like mask made out of one of Butch's friends' shirt.

Personality[]

Violent, ruthless and cruel, Murakami has an endless thirst for destruction and will stop at nothing until he reaches his goals of conquest. Reckless, he doesn't cares about the destruction he causes and hurts anyone who stands on his way. He has a quiet and cold demeanor and rarely speaks. Murakami is also very confused about modern technology.
