Blast Link debuted in Ultralink Invasion Part One, and is voiced by Brian Drummond.

History[]

Season 2[]

Ultralink Invasion Part One[]

During a meteor shower, a squadron of four Ultralinks were sent by Makino to Miles Dread. The red Stealth Ultralink bonded witha blaster, creating Blast Link. Alongside his comrades, Chomp and Prism Link, Blast was sent to Copper Canyon to wreak havoc. They caught Max Steel's attention. After the hero knocks down Chomp, Blast attacks him with an energy beam from his blast. Max retaliates by using his Turbo Speed Mode to knock down the Ultralinks, but it doesn't works. Blast quickly gets up and is about to shoot Max, until C.Y.T.R.O. appears and sends down missiles at the villain.

Max uses his new Turbo Lash to fight against Blast. After wrapping the lash around Blast's waist, the Ultralink starts to run while Max charges the weapon with T.U.R.B.O. Energy to slow him down. He lets go of it and as a result Blast runs extremely fast and crashes on the wall, causing him to temporarily faint. Dread later on reappears and N-Tek's force arrive to assist Max (who had been captured by Ven-Ghan) and C.Y.T.R.O.. They are outpowered by N-Tek and decide to retreat, with Dread leaving behind the fourth Ultralink to N-Tek capture so he could proceed with his master plan.

Ultralink Invasion Part Two[]

After N-Tek obtained the location of Dread's hideout, he sends out his army of Dread Naughts and the Ultralink trio to fight against the organization's forces. Eventually, they are defeated and forced to retreat. Blast, Chomp and Prism later on return to a Makino Destroyer to reunite with the other Ultralinks.

Dredd Ascendant[]

Ultimate Elementor is tasked to lead the Ultralink invasion on Earth and decides to use a simple strategy to attack N-Tek by attacking its base directly while it is unprotected. In order to do so, he joins with a large army of Ultralinks (including Blast, Chomp and Prism) and Megalinks to attack. However, Ultimate Elementor and the Ultralinks suffered a crushing defeat. Blast, along with his other comrades, criticized Elementor's plan.

Full Metal Racket[]

After Elementor's failure, Makino sends out a new commander named as Metallak to lead a small Ultralink army. When Metallak finds a video from the web of Maxwell stating that Max Steel could appear at the Copper Canyon's battle of the bands, Metallak sends Chomp to investigate while Blast attempted to locate the hero. Metal eventually attacks Copper Canyon city and the Ultralink trio is sent to wreak havoc. They attempt a new strategy to defeat Max this time, but fail nonetheless.

Animal Attraction[]

Blast, alongside Prism and Chomp, are running away while attacked by Max Steel on his Turbo Car and N-Tek's forces. They eventually escape thanks to a Makino Deployer nearby.

Blast, Prism and Chomp later confront N-Tek at the canyons. After Blast realized it was a trap, he commands his fellow Ultralink to run. After Chomp traps Ferrus and other agents in a plant dome, Blast and the others manage to get away.

Deep Turbo Blue Sea[]

When Dread sends information to Metallak that N-Tek was developing a Takion missile capable of destroying Makino, Metal leads an assault at Copper Canyon's undersea base on the South Pacific Blast, alongside other Ultralinks, raid the base in search of the Takion missile, but they find nothing. Chomp, Blast and Prism later on corner Max Steel while he was distracting Metal Elementor. They team-up to defeat the hero, but Max manages to defeat Metal by using his own weapons.

The Ultralink Hunter[]

Blast and Metal are rewatching a recording of the latter's defeat at the hands of Max Steel. He comes to the realization that Ultimate Elementor was going to let him perish, although Blast doesn't agrees at first. After Metal explains why he distrusts Elementor, Blast advises him to annex them into his being, of which Metallak agrees.

When Max, Steel and Ven-Ghan are escaping to escape from the Makino Deployer, Blast, Chomp and Prsim attempt to stop them. The trio is knocked down with Max and Steel's Turborang technique.

Journey to the Center of Copper Canyon[]

Blast, Chomp and Prism appear on Berto's training simulator. They raid Copper Canyon High School and fight against Max Steel. Blast is taken down after one of his energy projectiles reflects at Prism and his back at him.

Hot Zone[]

After Mega-Elementor picks up a T.U.R.B.O. energy surge at an island, he carefully plans his attack and explains it to Blast, Chomp and Prism, who watch in confusion. They are later sent to the island, but are defeated by Max Steel.

The Legend of Ja'em Mk'rah[]

Blast, alongside other Ultralinks, are deployed on a roadway. He commands two Ultralinks to bond with a truck, but they are destroyed by Max and his Turbo Car. Prism and Chomp engage in combat with Max, while Blast aims at him. He shoots at the hero, but his shot is deflected. After missing two times, he successfully hits Max mid-air, disorienting him and causing him to fall to the ground. They are about to leave when Chomp says that they could simply finish off Max Steel now, but Blast refuses, stating that they had to report the mission to Mega-Metal.

Blast and the others later report that the mission was a success. Thanks to a virus that Blast had installed on Steel, they find him on the canyons and fight against him. While Max attempts to cure Steel, Blast, Chomp and Prism fight against Ferrus, Molly McGrath and C.Y.T.R.O.. They are eventually taken down by Max and are arrested by N-Tek.

The Wrath of Makino[]

Abilities[]

  • Linking Abilities: Like others of his kind, Blast's initial Ultralink form is capable of bonding with an object or living being to create a monster designed for mass destruction.
  • Superhuman Strength: Blast Link is stronger than an average individual due to his size. He could easily thrown cars aside with his strength as seen in Ultralink Invasion Part One.
  • Superhuman Durability: Like other Ultralink monsters, Blast is highly durable and could withstand being damaged by Max Steel's Turbo Speed Mode multiple times in Ultralink Invasion Part One.
  • Superhuman Speed: As seen in Ultralink Invasion Part One, Blast can run at high speed.
  • Blaster Cannon: Blast carries a cannon his left shoulder capable of shooting red lasers. It can also store viruses, as seen in The Legend of Ja'em Mk'rah.
  • Hand Blasters: Blast has blasters for hands. His right rotating blaster is capable of firing concentrated energy beams at his foes, while the left can fire at rapid succession. Blast's charged shot was powerful enough to stop Turbo Cannon Mode while charging at his direction.
  • Unlimited Stamina: As seen in Ultralink Invasion Part One, Blast can spend long periods of time fighting.
  • Underwater Breathing: As seen in Deep Turbo Blue Sea, Blast can survive in underwater environments.

Weaknessess[]

  • Ultralink Hunter weapons: Blast can be permanently unlinked from his link slave via the Ultralink hunters' weapons.
  • Energy Core: Blast's weak spot is located on his head, where his Ultralink is located. Hitting it will cause him to either remain disoriented for a few seconds or knock him down.

Etymology[]

The word "Blast" can be defined as to blow up or break apart something with explosives while "Link" comes from the Ultralinks alien rac.

Appearance[]

Blast Link has a very similar appearance to Miles Dread's design, having a mechanical and angular appearance. He has a small spherical head where his Ultralink core is located, and various triangular/polygonal plates covering his body. He has red accents on his shoulders, cannons, torso and legs. Blast also has a cannon on his right shoulder, and two blasters for hands, with the left being larger than the right.

Personality[]

Blast is a stoic and obdient Ultralink. Like other Ultralinks, he does not like humans and resents Steel for his betrayal. As seen in The Big Picture, Blast makes overly complicated plans for his team, and, like his fellow Ultralinks, is afraid of Metal Elementor.

Trivia[]

  • He is frequently simply referred to as "Blast".
  • Blast Link was originally named as "Boom Link" during the development of the second season. While his name changed for the final product, he is still frequently referred to as Boom Link in many official sources, such as the description of some of OfficialMaxSteel's YouTube uploads.
    • In Full Metal Racket's credits, Blast is also referred to as Boom.
  • He is the only Ultralink of his squadron who did not got an action figure in the toy line. Although the reason is unknown, this is likely due to the character's proportions and design, which would be hard to translate for a toy.
  • Blast, alongside Chomp and Prism, are shown in Berto's training simulator, as seen in Journey to the Center of Copper Canyon.
