Go ahead, destroy me. But in the end, Master Makino will consume you!
—Avatak, Digital Meltdown

Avatak was a one-time villain introduced in Digital Meltdown. He was a Stealth Ultralink who bonded with a video game console, and was later used as a mean to have revenge on Max and Steel by Toxzon. He was voiced by Richard Ian Cox.

In The Final Countdown Part Two, another Avatak appears.

History[]

Season 2[]

Digital Meltdown[]

A Megalink was wandering the canyons when he spotted a gun. Realizing that it had massive weapon potential, he released an Ultralink to bond with it. However, the gun quickly switched to a game console, causing the Ultralink to bond with it and turn into a four-legged monster known as Avatak. He is then attacked by Toxzon with a gooey projectile. He tells the villain to finish him off, but Toxzon refuses to and attacks him again, causing the Ultralink to faint.

Toxzon takes Avatak to his hideout, and cuts the Ultralink's communication systems, making him unable to contact Elementor or any other Ultralink. He plugs him into a device capable capable of high-jacking him into the tournament of the Max Steel: Turbo Warrior videogame, and uses the same hypnosis serum that he used to control Ultimate Elementor to take over Avatak.

A virtual form of Avatak later on appears as the final boss on the Max Steel: Turbo Warrior tournament. Max and Steel attack the villain, but the latter is quickly defeated. Max, using Steel's avatar, manages to trick Avatak to step on a bug, causing him to malfunction. With a blast of T.U.R.B.O. energy, Avatak is defeated in the game and in the real life.

The Final Countdown Part Two[]

Another Avatak appears launching fireballs at N-Tek's forces, but he is quickly destroyed after being hit with missiles.

Abilities[]

  • Superhuman Strength: Avatak is stronger than an average individual, mainly because of his large size.
  • Superhuman Durability: Like other Ultralinks and Megalinks linked with hosts, Avatak's armor is extremely durable, as seen when he was hit with Toxzon's toxic goo and was not damaged at all.
  • Avatak's Beam of Doom

    Avatak's Beam of Doom.

Cannons: Avatak has large cannons for hands. They are capable of shooting large fireballs at his enemies.
  • Beam of Doom: A powerful energy beam that comes out from his chest. It inflicts large amounts of damage at the players.
  • Projectiles: Avatak is capable of shooting sharp disc-shaped projectiles from his shoulders.

Skills[]

  • Hacking Skills: He can hack into games on the type of video game console he bonded with.

Weaknessess[]

  • After he was captured by Toxzon, his communication systems were cut. Therefore, he was unable to reach out for Elementor or any Ultralink to help him.
  • Video Game Glitch: Avatak is vulnerable to bugs present on the Max Steel: Turbo Warrior videogame. After he stepped in on the glitch, his virtual and real life form started to malfunction.

Etymology[]

The name "Avatak" comes from the word "avatar", which is an icon or figure representing a particular person in computer games, internet forums and others. The terminology of his name, "ak", is a variation of a term seen with other Ultralinks or Megalinks on the series, such as Plaztek, Metallak and Zelak.

Appearance []

Avatak is a large four-legged creature whose design is inspired by the video game console of Max Steel: Turbo Warrior. He has the console attached to his shoulders, which acts as disc shooters, the logo of the device on his upper torso and a large red Power symbol on the middle of his chest. His shoulder armor is stylized after the console's controllers and he has large cannons for hands, with each having four large claws. He has four legs with silver armor and red accents, and his Ultralink core is located on his upper torso. It resembles a Raider Ultralink head.

Personality[]

Avatak, like other Ultralinks, was very loyal to Makino, being willing to do anything for his glory. As a result of being mind-controlled by Toxzon's hypnosis serum, Avatak remained quiet and unresponsive and would blindly follow the villain's orders. He would always shout the names of his attacks before using them.

Relationships[]

Toxzon[]

Avatak despised Toxzon. After he was injected with the hypnosis serum, he blindly followed Toxzon's orders against his will.

Max Steel[]

Avatak did not interact with Max nor Steel, even though he tried to destroy them. It is likely that he considered Steel as a traitor, and resented him.

Makino[]

Avatak, like other Ultralinks, was extremely loyal to Makino, referring to him as "Master". He was certain that his leader would manage to absorb Earth.

Quotes[]

  • "Fireball! Fireball! Fireball!" - Digital Meltdown
  • "Beam of Doom!" - Digital Meltdown

Trivia[]

  • He was mind-controlled using the same hypnosis serum that Toxzon used to control Ultimate Elementor in Pick Your Poison.
    • Unlike Elementor, who gained a purple-colored tint to his body, Avatak' design did not change at all.
